If you sleep hot, choose breathable cotton percale sheets, a light quilt and a cooling pillow. If you sleep cold, choose cotton sateen or flannelette sheets, a wool quilt and a blanket you can add on cold nights. The fabric closest to your skin makes the biggest difference.

For hot sleepers

  • Sheets: 600TC cotton percale. The simple weave lets air through and feels crisp and cool. 1000TC pure cotton is a softer option that still breathes well.
  • Quilt: a light quilt, or in high summer just a flat sheet and a thin cover.
  • Pillow: a gel infused pillow like our Thermo Gel Memory Pillow, found in pillows.
  • Avoid: flannelette, velvet covers and heavy blankets in warm months.

For cold sleepers

One bed, two different sleepers

Use cotton sheets as the shared base. Then give each person their own top layer: a light quilt on one side and a folded blanket on the other. Some couples use two single quilts on a king bed so each person controls their own warmth.
